It’s the Valentine’s Week again. K & I are not a particularly romantic lot. Lesser still on Valentine’s Day. Infact, over the last few years, we’ve made it a tradition to go out to dinner on 13th evening so we can stay in on the 14th. The crowd, the Valentine “special” menus and the din is so not us anymore.
The only celebration we do on the 14th is in the quiet of our home sweet home. It’s almost become a ritual for us- K cooks dinner for me and we watch reruns of our favourite telly soaps.
This year was slightly different though. One we have little Iy now 🙂 and two K had to travel for work on the 14th X-(. We however, managed to squeeze in the 13th dinner and kept the tradition alive :). This is how I dressed up.
I’ve worn this dress here before. I believe in “shunning the red” on Valentine’s! So, the only red was by way of my lips.
On the 14th since K was already out of town, Iy and I decided to venture out on our own for a nice long lunch at The Philosophy Club, Â one of my favourite cafes in Ahmedabad. It’s a vegan place run by a Spanish lady Gemma and has a handpicked menu. Each dish is cooked by Gemma herself and she chats you up like there is no tomorrow. With the lip smacking food, the vintage china, the weathered furniture and the gracious hostess, there is never a dull moment at Philosophy Club. Here’s what I had at the Club.
Yep I had most of this all by myself! The Soy Cappuccino is my favourite there (amongst other things). I used to visit it quite frequently while I was pregnant (all alone!) and now Iy and I go there often for our girly dates.
This is how I dressed up.
Iy’s dress was a gift from my sister.
Apart from the red lips, I wore this peach nail paint from LYN which was a part of my Valentine’s special MEB. More on that later.
So, that’s how I spent my Valentine’s Day. Do write in and share how you celebrated yours.
Stay Gorgeous xx
