Okay so valentines day is just round the corner. I know I know, people say that every day is Valentine’s Day, every minute is Valentine’s minute, but I don’t really agree with this. I think Valentine’s Day is a special occasion indeed to celebrate love, to enjoy yourself, and most importantly to deck up. I mean why shouldn’t we dress up to the minute and make those heads turn?

But, it’s Valentine’s day and not some wedding event that you pile up layers of makeup on your skin. Especially if you have been asked out for a date, then watch out gurl! You need to keep it simple yet elegant. You don’t want your guy to keep guessing the amount of time you would have taken to get ready do you?

So we have worked out some tips for styling yourself for the Vday! So grab a pen and paper and take notes.

Lunch date

If you are preparing for lunch date, then you need to keep it light. Make sure you keep a check on light coverage. So just pick up any of the BB creams that are available in the markets.

Next comes the outfit. Now, again you need to keep in mind that you are not going to walk the runway. It’s just a lunch date after all. I totally respect your sentiments that its your Valentine’s Day Date and you need to look your best. But, this doesn’t mean that you will walk to the table in your shorts and Tee. You need to intelligently pick up a dress and fashion it like a diva.

Go for something semi casual and style it casually. Go for pastels preferable as they look soothing to the eye and make you look fine.

For instance you can go for a light color maxi dress and add a denim jacket to it. If you want to add some bling to it, then either go for a flashy belt or accessorize your look with a statement neck piece and chunky earrings. You can do both too.

You can also go for a semi-formal look. Slip into your favorite pair of denims and add a blazer to it. To make it look formal you can team up a nice pair of heels with it like our leggy lass has done here.

To make it look more eventful, you can pick up a little fancy blazer like the one in the picture below.

For dinner date

Dinner date gives us the liberty to deck up a bit more. Well, I would again say that keep the makeup light and outfit semi-formal or semi casual. My favorite dinner color is black because I don’t think any other color can look more distinguished than black, but since its Valentine’s day you can go for red also.

You can go for a short dress and pair it with a modish pair of shoes. Keep accessories minimum to earrings or a statement neck piece and go for very light makeup.

If you feel that it would be a very formal kind of occasion, then you can go for a semi gown like the one in the picture. But then refrain from adding too much bling to it. This way you will be able to balance out your look.

I also like the way Sonam has styled her knee length dress with a denim jacket and pointed toe heels.

I have this thing for jumpsuits and I think they make the most perfect dinner date attire. You can go for dramatic eye makeup and blingy heels like Kangana has done here. A neat up do and you are set to make your guy go bonkers.

Another way to style your jumpsuit is like Deepika has done. Nude makeup and flats have efficiently complimented the jumpsuit.
