It’s so hot; won’t you rather be in the buff than dress up? If only! But, let me suggest the next best thing-Sheers! Tulle, Lace, Chiffon-take your pick or let them all rule your wardrobe this summer. Try bold colours or pastels or good old monochromes; layer them, combine them with opaques or just flaunt your curves by wearing their natural flowy selves….sheers can surprise you in more ways than one!

Here are a few ways to experience sheer joy this summer:

-Pair a sheer top/shirt with jeans, shorts or leggings

-Wear a sheer lace skirt in beige with a pastel silk or crepe blouse for an evening out. Silver ankle strap pumps and you are all set!

-if you are not in the mood to go “au-naturel”, wear a nude camisole beneath your sheer tops and dresses

-For all those who are in this for showing off a little bit, try lacey lingerie. If you are feeling rather bold wear neon under clothes to set off the sheer but remember there is a thin line between tasteful and trashy.

-Almost as sexy as a bare back is a sheer back. Try stick ons or halter neck transparent straps for a smooth and effortlessly chic look.

-Layer sheer tops with a solid cardi or blazer or combine a cotton tank top with a sheer open shirt.

-For a sheer evening shift dress, I would suggest playing it safe with a silk chemise of the same colour rather than experimenting with a contrast inner.

-Play with the length of the layers, longer sheers with a short under shirt or skirt or an uneven hemline.

-Accentuate your best features with the help of sheers be it your arms, midriff, legs or your back.

-For Indian wear try sheer sleeves or sheer churidaar with an opaque kurta. Sheer sarees have been around for as long as Bollywood and need no styling tips!

-Apart from clothes, go sheer on bags, clutches, shoes and belts. Try transparent, semi-transparent and translucent accessories.

Remember sheer is not about baring all (as tempting as it may sound!), it is simply embracing your femininity while safely treading the line between being seductive and sensual; revealing an itsy bitsy bit and leaving a lot more to imagination!

So go on, be comfortable in your own skin – while showing a little bit of it off!
