My musings are too random too many, as anyone who’s been following my blog for some time knows. So, when I started to think about what to write this week, a deluge of thoughts came rushing.
But, I filed most of them away in a mental folder and decided to revisit later. This week, I plan to talk about something else which is very close to my heart- Style & Experimentation.
I wasn’t always like this. For most of my life I thought fashion meant LBDs, red lipstick and heels. To be fair, it is how majority of us define fashion but I soon realized that all my outfits looked sickeningly similar and so did my sense of style. I knew it was time to change.
I’ve said it many times on CB before. How a woman dresses up depends on the phase of life she is in.
Phase1- When she dresses up for the men.
Phase 2- When she dresses up for other women.
Phase 3- When she dresses up for herself.
I am blissfully enjoying Phase 3. I just dress up for myself now (save the occasional date night where K is the chief guest wink-wink). Infact, I have become immune to most criticism that comes my way (I say most because some people still manage to ruffle my feathers namely –K).
Take for example, the outfit in the shoot below. When I got it, I was at the receiving end of polite quips like how it was “too bright and colourful” (how depressing, right!?). I love it btw….one of my favourites from Quirkbox!
I decided to take the quirkiness up by a notch by pairing the outfit with these polka-dotted heels. In for a penny, in for a pound, right ;)? The dress incidentally is called: “Stuck with Stupid” 🙂
BTW, I don’t want to take all the credit here. Three people contributed in making the pics and me look so glorious (and slightly less crazy 😉 ).
- QuirkBox. The more I say about the brand the less it is. They are the epitome of quirk and style (and my absolute favourite!)
- Project Café. An experiment with a sober concept of combining a full-fledged gourmet café with an art gallery, boutique and a hermitage for artistic expressions of every kind. If you like anything on the walls, floors or the ceiling catches your fancy, you can go ahead and buy it right there!
- Mansi Soni. Photographer par-excellence! I am sure she’ll make me look like a diva in rags too.
Do write in as always. Like I say: brickbats or accolades, your comments are most cherished!
Stay Gorgeous xx
