Uttarayan or the Kite Flying Festival is the most awaited time in Ahmedabad second only to the Navratris. There’s colour everywhere whether it’s the skies or the terraces thronged with people donning colorful ensemble.
I was invited to celebrate Uttarayan at a friend’s and since K was travelling for work, Iy and I decided to dress up and make the most of it. 🙂 (so bummed I didn’t click Iy’s pics, she looked glorious in her Indian attire!).
Here’s an outfit post for all those people who complain I don’t do Indian wear on the blog! (I’ve done Indian wear here, here and here before).
Apart from the anarkali dress, I am wearing some of my favorite accessories here. The gold plated silver two finger ring is by Eesha Zaveri and I love how the green flower sits exactly between the fingers. I have worn her jewelry here before.
The clutch is from Arancia Bags and has been designed by the awesome Payal Shah. I love her entire collection. I am carrying her tie & dye envelope clutch here. This particular clutch is translucent and so in vogue!
My ZARA flats are so comfortable especially when I am carrying Iy around. I can never have enough of them!
Last but definitely not the least, this pretty neckpiece in gold from Amrapali. I can’t wait to style it differently with other outfits!
Another reason for Amdavadis to look forward to Uttarayan is because they buy new sunnies. Only that day the sun barely came out. But, when it did….all of us proudly sported our sunglasses 🙂
I love how all of the accessories are so versatile that they look perfect with any outfit whether Indian or Western.
How did you dress up for Uttarayan? Do write in as always.
Stay Gorgeous xx
