I am so excited to share pics from my first ever international collaboration (and shoot) that I have decided to not rant in the post (at all!). Phew! what a relief no? ;).
First of all, everyone that I worked with- Colette from La Fille Colette, Kaiser the photographer and Matt & Nicky at Jesamondo Salon and Spa were extremely warm and made me feel so very welcome! They are all also wonderfully professional and talented.
Colette’s collection is amazing- right from the colours to the cuts to the fit- I had a very tough time choosing one out of the lot. I zeroed in one the gown in the end- one, because of the amazing back and two, because this is completely out of my comfort zone- a gown in the middle of a busy street- that’s got to be some experience right. so, I jumped right in.
La Fille Colette is a line of dresses created by Colette Chrétien for a feminine and strong woman who seeks versatile, polished pieces to take her from day to night. The collection is full of exciting and elevated garments that are also incredibly easy to wear. The company is based in Boston, and the dresses are made ethically and locally in Massachusetts. Check them out on Instagram and FB.
I gave Nicky at Jesamondo just one brief. Do whatever you want! Again very unlike me. I never give out control- especially in a fashion shoot but I let Nicky decide the make up and hair do. I must say she had me out of my comfort zone again- I am into bright lipsticks, blush on my cheeks and no bronzer- this look was anything but! But, you could hear a pin drop when I walked out after Nicky was done with me. I can only hope it was because I looked good (somehow I feel I did, what do you think?).
Jesamondo Salon & Spa specializes in hair, nails, skincare, spa treatments, facials, waxing, massage, reiki and make-up applications. Using the finest salon products on the market including Oribe and Goldwell, the company retains its award winning reputation as the area’s finest salon featuring the newest, cutting edge technology since 1980. Check them out on Instagram and FB.
I told Kaiser I wanted to shoot in the middle of a busy road, I wanted to capture a typical New England street and boy did he deliver. He sent me Google street views (he’d not been to Wellesley) and that’s how we chose the street! He was a complete professional (and very patient!). I tend to be whiny during shoots but he didn’t seem to mind at all (or he didn’t let on even if he did 🙂 ). Check out his amazing work on Instagram, FB and Website.
I would also like to mention my India partners- Arancia for such a cute clutch- it completely owned the look and Intoto shoes for the stilettoes. I don’t think any other shoes could have done what these did to the ensemble. Not to mention they were thorough professionals and made sure I received the merchandise well before my travel date.
I felt like Cinderella in the middle of a New England street (with my Prince Charming back home) and I can’t remember another shoot moment where I’ve felt this happy, this pretty and this pampered!
Here’s to all my partners. Hope to work with all of you soon again!
