Raghavendra Rathore needs no introduction. Touted as the “original Bandhgala maker”, he is the reason most of us love Indian couture. He was in Ahmedabad last week for the BMW IBFW and when I received an invite, I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

I don’t have a lot of pictures from the show (the lighting wasn’t kind and you don’t want to be holding your phone up when you can view the actual collection on live models right in front of you!), but take a look.

From the colours to the cuts to the intricate work, I have no words to describe the collection. I love how he  plays with “earthy tones meet fall” shades and and richer fabrics like silk and crepe. His collection is Godsent for all the “new-age quasi-minimalist brides” who are looking for subtle yet intricate designs. (It’s a shame I am already married!). Grooms-to-be you just cannot go wrong with the Bandh-galas and classic colours by RR. Your search for the perfect wedding attire stops here!

And people in Ahmedabad I have some brilliant news! We may get an exclusive RR store in the city as early as next month! Will keep you posted.

What I wore-I wore a box pleated silk skater dress by Dipali Shah Haute Couture to the do. It’s from her latest collection which is yet to hit the boutique! You can shop for her existing collection at her estore here or visit her at  41, Spring Field, Judges Bunglow Road, Premchand Nagar Society, Bodakdev  if you live in Ahmedabad.

Since the dress was a statement in itself, I paired it with a muted choker from Forever 21 and a metal minaudiere from Fab India (limited edition). The shoes from Rockport were a cheery yellow to go with my spirits. 🙂
