It’s a modern take on boy meets girl.

If I were to define androgynous fashion in simple terms it would be “gender-blurring fashion”. While till a decade ago this meant challenging the societal norms and pre-defined gender attributes, the last couple of years has been more accepting of the trend. In fact the fashion world has embraced it with open arms across the world.

Although Bollywood is still to catch on to this, the LA counterparts seem to be too happy sporting it even on red carpet. Case in point, Angeline Jolie at BAFTA

A few tips from CB to make this look work for you:

-Remember it’s androgynous and not just masculine fashion. Always leave a touch of femininity by way of red lips or cute pumps.

-Do not forget your sense of personal style ever!

-For a quick fix, make use of husband/boyfriend’s shirts/jackets and accessories.

I tried the look a few weeks back for an online magazine shoot. My styling is feminine to the very core and that’s why androgyny was stepping out of my comfort zone completely! I am sure I look as uneasy as I felt but I hope I managed to pull it off.

I could have gone all out and paired the ensemble with oxfords or brogues but shoes is something I just cannot compromise on :).

Stay Gorgeous xx
